The production has new staging by Laurence Connor, and new choreography by Ｓｃｏｔ Ａｍｂｌｅｒ．Lighting design is by Paul Ｃｏｎｓｔａｂｌe and sound design by Mick Potter. The production is overseen by Matthew Bourne and Cameron Mackintosh.
The Phantom of the Opera is a musical/opera by Andrew Loyd Weber, based on the French novel Le Fant?me de l'Op?ra by Gaston Laroux The music was composed by Lloyd Webber, and most lyrics were written by Charles Hart. Additional lyrics were written by Richard Stilgoe. Alan Jay Lerner was an early collaborator, but he withdrew after completing work on a single song, Masquerade, and died shortly thereafter. The central plot revolves around a beautiful soprano, Christine Daa?, who becomes the obsession of a mysterious, disfigured musical genius.
